2 injured in fiery car crash on Highway 60 in Butler County

BUTLER COUNTY, MO (KFVS) -

Emergency crews were called to a fiery car crash Thursday evening on Highway 60 in Butler County.

It happened around 7:15 p.m. on US 60, eight miles west of Poplar Bluff.

Troopers say a 2001 Chevy Cavalier driven by Penny Taylor, 44, of Bernie, Mo. ran off the left side of the road, hit some large rocks and overturned. The car caught fire and burned.

The driver was airlifted to a Memphis hospital with serious injuries. A passenger, Priscilla White, 33, of Bernie was injured and was taken to a Poplar Bluff hospital for treatment.

Troopers say both were wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
