An employee of Chicago's Navy Pier has met his goal, breaking the record for the longest Ferris wheel ride and bringing the record to the birthplace of the amusement park favorite.
A manager of Chicago's Navy Pier rode the tourist spot's Ferris wheel for more than two days, bringing the world record for the longest ride to the birthplace of the amusement park favorite.

There are new details on the Madison County forest fire that has burned 48 acres.
The fire is located just west of Higdon, Missouri, approximately seven miles north and east of Fredericktown, Missouri.
Bill Paxton with the Mark Twain National Forest says the fire under is 100 percent contained.
Crew of more than 20 people will remain to put out hotspots and make sure the fire is out should the wind pick up.
A couple of firefighters suffered from minor heat exhaustion. They were treated on the scene. No other injuries have been reported.
According to the US Forest Service, the fire burned about 30 acres of forest in the Higdon area, not far from Fredericktown.
The fire burned the old historic Higdon School, a trailer and five cars.
This fire was caused by a spark from mowing equipment hitting a rock.
It happened in the Mark Twain National Forest, and some of the fire was also reportedly on private land.
Full control on the fires is projected for mid-week, given current fire weather conditions and available resources.
Experts say the officer who killed a Long Island college student and a home invasion suspect on Friday was confronted with a split-second choice.
The college student was being held in a headlock by a masked intruder with a loaded gun to her head, police said. Then the gunman took aim at an officer.
