DELTA, MO (KFVS) - Firefighters battled a fire at a home just outside of Delta early Thursday morning.

The fire happened at 225 Rabbit Lane at 12:30 a.m.

A family was inside the home when the fire started.  Everyone exited the home safely.

Fire started on the back of the house and quickly spread to the roof.  Delta called five other departments for mutual aid. Heat was a major issue for the fire crews.

Crews were able to save half the home, but part of the roof collapsed.

The cause of the fire is unknown.
