Expired licence plate leads to meth arrest

MARSHALL COUNTY, KY (KFVS) -

Three Kentucky women were arrested on Tuesday, July 3 on meth-related charges after their vehicle was stopped for expired license plates and receipt.

Marshall County Sheriff's Deputy Samantha Mighell made a traffic stop on Teresa F. Price, 53,  of Benton, KY.

Price was unable to produce proof of insurance or a valid operators license.

After given consent to search the vehicle, officers found paraphernalia consistent with manufacturing methamphetimine including camp fuel, psuedoephedrine, and syringes.

Price was cited for Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st Degree, Unlawful Possession of a Meth Precursor, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, License to be in Possession, No Registration Plates, No Registration Receipt, Failure to Produce Insurance Card and Failure of Owner to Maintain Required Insurance.

Alisha K. Bryan, 19, of Paducah was a passenger in Price's vehicle.

Bryan attempted to hide syringes in her pants during the search.  Methamphetamine and marijuana were found in her possession.

Bryan was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st Degree, Unlawful Possession of a Meth Precursor, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Tampering with Evidence, and Possession of Marijuana.

Casey L. Mooneyham, 36, of Benton, was also a passenger in the vehicle.  She was arrested on Controlled Substance 1st Degree, Public Intoxication, and Possession of an Open Alcoholic Beverage Container in a Motor Vehicle. 

All three women were taken to Marshall County Detention Center.
