Firefighters put out brush fire in Zalma

ZALMA, MO (KFVS) -

Three fire departments put out a brush fire in Zalma Tuesday afternoon.

Leopold Fire Chief Chris Brown says the fire started around 5 p.m. in a vacant lot at the corner of Walnut and Highway 51 south.

Brown says the small brush fire burned about a quarter acre of a backyard of a vacant house that's for sale and an outbuilding.

No was injured.

It took crews about 45 minutes to put out the fire.

The cause of the fire is undetermined.

Zalma, Advance, and Leopold firefighters responded.
