PERRYVILLE, MO (KFVS) -

A Perryville teen faces several charges after the Perry County Sheriff says he led a deputy on a chase before crashing his vehicle into a tree early Sunday morning.

Sheriff Gary Schaaf says a deputy approached a vehicle that was doing careless and imprudent driving at 2:49 a.m. The driver of the 1996 Ford noticed the deputy behind him and took off.

Dylan A. Bohnert, 19, of Perryville is accused of running stop signs and failing to yield. Schaaf says Bohnert lost control of his vehicle and hit a tree at 2:50 a.m. The vehicle overturned on Route M just east of Perry County Road 906, according to the Missouri Highway Patrol.

Bohnert had to be cut from the vehicle. He was flown to a St. Louis hospital with injuries.

Bohnert faces several charges including DWI, careless and imprudent driving, failure to signal, failure to stop at a stop sign, failure to drive on right half of roadway, failure to yield to an emergency vehicle, failure to register a motor vehicle, display license plates of another, and violation of limited driving privileges.
