KENNETT, MO (KFVS) -

Police say a Kennett man confessed to setting 13 fires at houses in town to destroy evidence he broke in to each house.

Daniel H. Bugbee, 34, of Kennett, is charged with 13 counts of Class C felony arson.

According to the probable cause statement, Bugbee admitted to setting the fires between December 1, 2011 and July 17, 2012.

Bugbee was being held in the Dunklin County Jail on $100,000 cash only bond.

As police were canvassing 711 South Anthony Street in Kennett on July 17 after the latest fire, two people told an officer they saw a white male wearing colored glasses riding a bicycle in the area during the time of the fire.

The two pointed Bugbee out from a photo array as the suspect on the bicycle.

Police found Bugbee at his home in Kennett and he confessed to setting the fire at 711 South Anthony on July 17 by crawling through an open window and lighting a pile of clothes on fire, according to the probable cause statement. He then admitted to setting 12 other fires, according to the probable cause.
