Wal-Mart stores in several Missouri communities were reportedly evacuated Friday night following a series of bomb threats.

TV stations in Kansas City, Jefferson City and St. Louis report threats phoned into stores in Raytown and Gladstone, near Kansas City; Nixa and Ozark, near Springfield; and St. Peters, which is near St. Louis.

Missouri Highway Patrol Trooper Clark Parrott confirms the Fredericktown Wal-Mart was evacuted, as well.

And, a "threat" was called into Piedmont Wal-Mart, according to Piedmont's police chief. He says the store was evacuated just after 8 p.m. and all clear was given shortly after 3 p.m.

"Obviously, we're concerned anytime someone makes a threat that might endanger our customers and associates," said Wal-Mart Company Spokesman Dan Fogleman. "We're grateful that there was no-one injured and apologize to our customers for any inconvenience, but we wanted to ensure their safety."

"We're working closely with police and will provide any information that we may have that can help them identify those responsible," Fogleman added.

No further information about the incidents are available.
