Straight line winds cause damage in Kennett

KENNETT, MO (KFVS) -

The Dunklin County Assistant Emergency Management Director blames straight lines winds for the damage in Kennett.

David Horton says a strong storm moved into town around 8 p.m. Monday and brought down tree limbs and utility lines on the northeast side of town.

"I grabbed her (nodding to his baby) ran in the kitchen, and fell down," said Trask Laden. "I had a hold of her, but I made them go in the bathroom."

"I thought lightning his the house," said Linda Lee. "It was so loud and it made the house shake."

Crews are working to get everything cleaned up.

No one got hurt.
