MURPHYSBORO, IL (KFVS) -

Illinois scratch-off lottery tickets stolen from Huck's Store in Murphysboro led to three arrests.

On July 30 at about 4:42 a.m. Murphysboro police responded to a call from the Huck's Store on Walnut Street. The clerk reported a person had entered the store, stolen several scratch-off lottery tickets and fled. The subject was identified from surveillance video.

Car thefts were reported in the area around the same time period. A woman on Commercial Avenue reported her vehicle had been broken into overnight and property taken. A man on Walnut Street also reported his vehicle had been broken into and property stolen.

On July 26, a car theft was reported and the owner reported a credit/debit card had been taken and recently used at a local convenience store.

A search warrant was served on the home of the person from the surveillance video.

During the search, multiple items were recovered from these cases as well as cases of burglary and theft dating back several months.

The investigation led to the arrests of Eric Austin Loar, 31, of Murphysboro and of Andrea Nicole Karnes, 25, also of Murphysboro. Loar is charged with felony retail theft, unlawful use of a credit/debit card, and burglary of a motor vehicle. Karnes is charged with felony theft by possession.

Joseph Dale Trexler, 30, of Murphysboro is charged with theft, unlawful use of credit/debit card, and forgery.

Additional charges are pending as police sort through property recovered through the investigation and identify more victims in this case.
