A fire in Oran destroyed a 2-story house on Tuesday morning. According to the Oran Fire Department, it happened at 4:05 a.m. at 907 highway W, which is right in the middle of town. Firefighters
No one was living in the home at the time of the time. Fire crews tell Heartland News that the family had just moved out.

A Paducah man is facing drug charges after police say he was caught with marijuana.
Gregory L. Hixon, 28, of Paducah was arrested on charges of trafficking in more than eight ounces of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Officers say they found two ounces of marijuana on Hixon after a traffic stop and 2.75 pounds of marijuana valued at $2,800 in the trunk of his car.
After a search of Hixon's home, officers say they found marijuana, drug paraphernalia and $1,200 believed to be proceeds from drug trafficking.
