PADUCAH, KY (KFVS) -

A Paducah man was injured after a crash Thursday afternoon on US 68.

It happened around 4:30 p.m. on US 68 at the eastbound Interstate 24 on ramp.

According to the sheriff's office, Shanon T. Kirchhoff 60, of Cape Girardeau was traveling east- bound and was trying to cross US 68 at Exit 16 in a 1999 Chevrolet Suburban.

Deputies say Kirchoff pulled into the path of a 2008 Buick Lucerne driven by Ricky E. Peck 51, of Paducah who was traveling East bound on US 68.

Peck's vehicle made contact with both passenger doors of Kirchoff's vehicle which disabled both vehicles.

The road was closed to one lane for about one hour.

Peck was taken to an area hospital for injuries that he sustained from the collision.

Kirchoff and his wife Jennifer Ann Kirchoff, 41,  refused treatment at the time of the collision.

The Sheriff's Department was assisted at the scene by Kentucky State Police, Mercy Regional Ambulance Service, Reidland Fire Department, and BA's Towing service.
