A St. Louis man faces 114 charges in two counties in a very disturbing sex assault case.
A Bonne Terre couple has been sentenced for charges related to this case.
Mitchell Rose faces a list of charges which include rape, sodomy, statutory rape, and deviate sexual assault.
According to a probable cause statement, the crimes allegedly happened in Washington and St. Francois counties from July 2009 to October 2010.
According to four victims who were juveniles at the time, Rose told them he was the leader of the Scorpion gang and he would protect them from a rival gang known as the Spider gang.
The victims told police that Rose made them undergo initiation into the gang that included numerous sexual acts.
The victims then told officers Rose said they would be killed by the Scorpion gang if they left.
Mark and Regina Petteys of Bonne Terre were allegedly in the Scorpion gang with Rose and are accused of witnessing, participating, and being present with Mitchell Rose at their home in St. Francois County where multiple victims were initiated in a gang and punished with sexual acts if they didn't follow the rules of the gang.
According to the probable cause statement, Regina was in an adjacent room while Rose was initiating a girl into the gang with sexual acts. The girl told investigators that she was screaming during the initiation and thought Regina could have heard the screams.
