SIKESTON, MO (KFVS) -

SIKESTON, MO (KFVS) - A benefit race was held Saturday for a 3-year-old that raised money and awareness for Rapid-onset Obesity with Hypothalamic dysfunction, Hypoventilation and Autonomic Dysregulation syndrome.

ROHHAD is a rare disease affecting about only 75 cases worldwide.

The benefit race was Aug. 11 for 3-year-old Reagann Duenne from Charleston, Mo.

Her mother and father are B.J. and Joe Duenne. It will start around 5 p.m. at the Sikeston Drag Strip, now called Dyno Dom's Sikeston Raceway.

"All you hear about is childhood obesity," B.J. Duenne said. "They aren't just eating too much. There's something going on. We need research. We need help."

Reagann's aunt says so far, the little girl is showing minimal signs, but did have a tumor removed recently that was neuroblastoma cancer; which puts her on the list for being watched for ROHHAD.

She says friends and family want to help Reagann and all other families that have ROHHAD.
