SCOTT COUNTY, MO (KFVS) -

An early morning fire destroyed a mobile home in rural Scott County, Missouri.

It happened about 2:30 Sunday morning.

Sikeston, Scott County Rural, and Miner fire crews responded to the trailer fire on Pendleton Street off of County Road 472.

Scott County Rural Assistant Fire Chief Jeremy Perrien says the home and a nearby shed is considered a total loss.

Crews were on the scene for hours fighting the fire and making sure everything was out.

No one was in the house at the time of the fire.  It's believed to be vacant,  but the home still had furniture and other miscellaneous belongings stored inside.

Six black Labrador puppies were rescued and given to the home owner's family.

The cause is undetermined, and the fire is still under investigation.
