A Hickman, Kentucky man was arrested for driving under the influence while driving a tractor.

On August 3, a Fulton County Sheriff's deputy encountered a man on a tractor traveling south on 7th Street in Hickman.

The man was driving in a manner that caused approaching traffic to have to swerve to avoid contact with the tractor, according to the Fulton County Sheriff's Department.

The man continued driving on Cedar Street, swerving from side to side, running off the road, and running three stop signs before being stopped.

The driver of the tractor was identified as Timothy Haney of Hickman, Ky.

He was arrested for disregarding three stop signs and operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol, 1st offense.

Due to the high amount of alcohol shown on his breath analysis, Haney was charged with aggravated circumstances. He was three times over the legal limit allowed by law, according to the sheriff's department.

As a reminder, a nationwide campaign will begin August 17 called "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over".

Law enforcement agencies will be participating in a campaign to target impaired drivers and remove them from roadways.
