KARNAK, IL (KFVS) -
The Pulaski County Sheriff's Office has made it's first ever active meth lab bust in the county.
Craig Leonard, Clarence Leonard, and Kimberly Leonard, all of Karnak, appeared in Pulaski County court on Tuesday on four counts each of unlawful possession of methamphetamine, unlawful use of property, unlawful methamphetamine-related child endangerment and unlawful possession of methamphetamine.
State's attorney, Donna McCann says after deputies received a tip, warrants were applied for and carried out by deputies Saturday at the Leonards' home in on Jackson Street in Karnak, Illinois.
Deputies say they found the meth lab in the home of Kimberly Leonard and her adult sons, Craig and Clarence. Investigators say two young children were also in the home.
Sheriff Randy Kern said it was of vital importance to get the children out of the dangerous situation in the home.
McCann says the defendants were being each held on $250,000 bond in Tri-County Detention Center, Ullin, Illinois.
The Leonards' have court appointed attorneys and have preliminary hearings set for August 27 in Mound City, Illinois.
A wide-ranging farm bill the House is considering would cut food stamps by $2 billion a year and make it more difficult for some people to qualify for the domestic food aid program.
