SALINE COUNTY, IL (KFVS) -

A wrong way head on crash on Illinois Route 34 Thursday afternoon sent one person to the hospital.

It happened shortly after 2:15 p.m. in Saline County, Illinois.

According to District 19 State Police,  the driver of the 2008 Honda Element, Fred Brantley, 58, of Ozark, Illinois was northbound on Illinois Route 34 at Saline County Road 2570S, when for unknown reasons his vehicle crossed the center line.

Police say his vehicle then hit head-on a southbound 1995 Toyota Camry, driven by Cynthia Vaughn, 55, of Rosiclare, Illinois.

Brantley refused medical treatment at the crash scene.

Vaughn was taken by Air Evac to Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Indiana, for treatment of her injuries.

A passenger in Vaughn's vehicle, Judith Oxford, 55, of Elizabethtown, Illinois, was taken by the Saline County EMS to Harrisburg Medical Center for treatment.

Police say Brantley was cited for improper lane usage.
