Easter is usually a time when we see more Biblical and spiritual films either on television or the big screen. Now one shot by a crew in the Cape Girardeau is grabbing a lot of attention.

SIKESTON, MO (KFVS) -

An Oran woman was killed in a two vehicle crash early Saturday morning.

According to Sikeston DPS Lt. Jim McMillen, the crash happened on shortly before 2 a.m.on US Highway 61, south of Highway HH in Scott County.

Officers say two vehicles traveling in opposite directions collided head on.  Department of Public Safety personnel began efforts to remove one driver from her vehicle.  The other driver was found unresponsive inside her vehicle.  She was checked by EMS and found to be deceased.

Scott County Coroner Scott Amick responded and pronounced Melissa C. McNamee, 32, of Oran, Missouri deceased.

Emergency crews shut down US Highway 61 for several hours while they investigated the collision.

The injured driver was a 52-year-old from Miner, Mo. She was extricated and flown to an area hospital by Air Evac Lifeteam for injuries sustained during the collision.  Her injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

Due to the severity of the collision, DPS contacted the Missouri State Highway Patrol for a possible reconstruction of the accident.

Lt. McMillen says the initial investigation shows one driver crossed the centerline, leading to the head on collision.  DPS is investigating the possibility of alcohol being a factor.

Police say they are continuing the investigation of the incident to determine what factors led to this collision.
