FRUITLAND, MO (KFVS) -

A house fire that started early Saturday morning in Fruitland, Missouri is being investigated.

Fruitland Fire Chief Dean Riley says that a small fire broke out around 4 Saturday morning at a house just south of the Fruitland Fire Department.

According to Chief Riley, the small fire started in the crawl space underneath the house.

He says it was extinguished fairly quickly and was even sprayed down afterwards to eliminate any threat of the fire re-igniting.

Chief Riley says the cause of the fire is being investigated.
