Kennett man pleads guilty to drug trafficking

A Kennett man pleaded guilty to drug trafficking.

Rodney Joe McKinney, 46, of Kennett pleaded guilty to one felony count of conspiracy to distribute 280 grams or more of cocaine base from November 19, 2010 to June 8, 2011 in Dunklin County and elsewhere.

McKinney distributed over 500 grams of powder cocaine and more than 350 grams of cocaine base to others in furtherance of the conspiracy to distribute cocaine base in Dunklin County and other areas of southeast Missouri, according to the United States Attorney's Office Eastern District of Missouri.

McKinney faces a maximum punishment life imprisonment and a $20 million fine.

His sentencing is set for November 19.
