POPLAR BLUFF, MO (KFVS) -
A bicycle rider was killed after he was hit by a truck Tuesday night.
It happened on Route M two miles south of Poplar Bluff around 9:35 p.m. Tuesday.
Joseph W. Wright, 30, of Poplar Bluff was riding a bicycle when he was hit from behind by a 2011 Dodge Ram pickup driven by Mitchell D. McDaniel, 28, of Poplar Bluff, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Troopers say McDaniel was intoxicated at the time of the crash.
McDaniel faces a charge of involuntary manslaughter.
Wright died at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.
