DU QUOIN, IL (KFVS) -

Illinois State Police are investigating a Wednesday morning bank robbery.

It happened around 10:30 a.m. at The Old Exchange Bank in Okawville.  That's in Washington County, Illinois.

Troopers say a suspect gave the teller a note and demanded money.  The suspect then fled the bank on foot with an undisclosed amount of money.

The suspect is described by police as a white male, wearing a St. Louis Cardinals ball cap, a white dress shirt with thin maroon pin stripes, and blue jeans. 

The Okawville Police Department, Washington County Sheriff's Department and Illinois State Police are continuing the investigation.
