Early Saturday morning, Blytheville police officers were involved in a deadly shooting in response to a 911 call of a person being held hostage, according to Police Chief Ross Thompson.

Illinois State Police are investigating a Wednesday morning bank robbery.
It happened around 10:30 a.m. at The Old Exchange Bank in
Okawville. That's in Washington County, Illinois.
Troopers say a suspect gave the teller a note
and demanded money. The suspect then fled the bank on foot with an undisclosed amount of
money.
The suspect is described by police as a
white male, wearing a St. Louis Cardinals ball cap, a white dress shirt with
thin maroon pin stripes, and blue jeans.
The Okawville Police Department, Washington County Sheriff's Department
and Illinois State Police are continuing the investigation.
Anyone with information regarding the bank
robbery is asked to contact the Illinois State Police, Zone 7 Investigations in
DuQuoin, Illinois at (618) 542-1124.

One person has died in a crash near Harrisonville, MO, Thursday evening. The crash happened on Missouri Highway 7 and Walker Road. It involved a car and a tractor-trailer. Harrisonville is in Cass County.
Savannah Nash celebrated her 16th birthday last week. She died Thursday when her car slammed into a semi while she was texting during her first time driving by herself.
