FULTON COUNTY, KY (KFVS) -
A felon on the run since January was captured Friday night by authorities in Fulton County, Kentucky.
Timothy Slaughter, 34, was arrested on charges of failure to appear for sentencing in the Fulton County Circuit court for fleeing and evading police-second degree, manufacturing methamphetamine-first offense, drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance, and persistent felony offender. He was also served with eight counts of theft by deception.
Deputies say Slaughter now faces additional charges in Fulton County for possession of firearms by a convicted felon. Deputies say seven guns were seized at the residence. Also, a warrant out of Graves County was served for bail jumping.
According to the sheriff's office, it all started around 8:30 Friday night when deputies went to 719 State Route 45 in Fulton County to serve warrants on Slaughter.
Deputies say Slaughter has a history of fleeing from authorities, and has been a fugitive in Fulton County since January 2012. That's when he failed to show up for sentencing in Fulton County Circuit Court.
Acting on a tip, deputies say they went to the residence and set up surveillance to see if Slaughter was there.
Deputies say they saw Slaughter as he came outside to smoke. After he went back inside, deputies surrounded the residence. When they searched inside and found Slaughter, he was found hiding between some mattresses.
Slaughter was taken into custody on the outstanding warrants and new charges were filed.
The sheriff's office wants to thank the public for all confidential tips received.
