One person is in custody after a new fire truck was stolen in Williamson County.

The Williamson County Fire Protection District chief says the fire truck was stolen Tuesday just before noon from the district office on the Johnson City blacktop.

The truck was later found wrecked off of Crenshaw Road. A Williamson County sheriff's deputy was behind the truck when it crashed. The crash happened at 11;59 a.m. on Crenshaw Road just west of Pease Road.

A 22-year-old white male is in custody.

The truck was taken to the Williamson County Fire Protection Station near the Williamson County Regional Airport.

The truck was just purchased four months ago for $300,000.
