BATON ROUGE, LA (KFVS) -

The latest numbers from the Red Cross show progress being made according to officials. As of Monday, the organization has 830 people on the ground in Mississippi and Louisiana.

Ann Knopf, with the Red Cross, says there are 16 shelters up and running. The organization is in the process of consolidating them, signs that people are returning home.

Officials say they have served more than 267,000 meals and snacks. This will continue along with the mobile feeding systems the Red Cross has in place.

The local chapter says they have seven volunteers deployed right now with vehicles.

Officials say they are set to rotate volunteers soon. They have been in place for two weeks.
