SIKESTON, MO (KFVS) -

Rotopunch is a new spin on a tool that some have known about for years.  Spin around five different-sized punches to make a hole in most fabrics.  Makers say it's handy for adding an extra hole to a belt or shoelaces.  You can also attach snaps and eyelets with the additional features the tool offers.

We give it a try at Show-Me Rentals in Sikeston where Dawnya Amelunke said it might come in handy.

"We hang up lights and curtains in many of our wedding rentals.  This could come in handy."

After much jiggling around with the tool and belt, we finally get Rotopunch to make a hole.  Next, we try it on thicker canvas.  It, too, passes that test.  We also punch through some thick leather boots and add a snap to some thick canvas.

"I think you  might want to keep a pair of scissors on-hand to take out the excess fabric it leaves behind when you make a hole, but I do think it works.  You just have to wiggle it some, but that's ok. I think it would work for our purposes here at the shop. I'd give it at least a B+."

Rotopunch might just be the tool to keep on-hand. It packs enough punch to earn a good B+ on this Does it Work test.  Lauren bought the $10 tool at Walmart in Cape Girardeau.
