CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) -
A man accused of trying to sexually assault a young girl who walked into traffic on Interstate 55 back in April changed his plea to guilty.
Quinton Headrick pleaded guilty to an amended charge of child molestation in the first degree.
After the plea, Headrick was sentenced to 10 years in prison.
In April, after the victim told her mother about the attempted sexual assault and family contacted police.
Officers say Headrick allegedly shot himself in the head and walked into traffic on I-55 trying to kill himself.
