CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) -

Police are investigating after several suspects jumped from a vehicle, then another suspicious car was involved in a crash in Cape Girardeau.

Officers were trying to make contact with suspects in a vehicle when the suspects jumped from the car and ran off on foot.

Officers were searching the area when they noticed a white Dodge Charger acting suspicious.

They tried to pull the car over, but the driver took off.

The car was involved in a crash at Independence and Lorimier Street in Cape Girardeau with another car.

The Charger kept going and officers received word the car went across the Bill Emerson Memorial Bridge.

Cape Girardeau Police are working with Illinois State Police and Alexander County Sheriff's Department.
