Man accused of kidnapping, rape turns himself in to police

POPLAR BLUFF, MO (KFVS) -

A man accused of kidnapping and forcible rape turned himself in to Poplar Bluff police early Thursday morning.

Stephan D. Anderson, 30, of Poplar Bluff is accused of felonious restraint, forcible rape, forcible sodomy, and robbery 2nd degree.

A 19-year-old woman was reported missing by her mother on September 4 at 11 p.m. In the mid-morning, she was able to use her cell phone to call a friend. She gave this person directions to her location, and she was picked up and brought to the police department.

The victim identified her abductor as Stephan "Wayne" Anderson, 30, of Poplar Bluff.

Anderson turned himself in to police at 12:05 a.m. on September 6.

His bond was set at $100,000. Anderson was taken to the Butler County Jail.
