Mo. park officials to close 4 state park beaches

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) - This will be the final weekend for swimming at beaches at four Missouri state parks.

The Missouri Department of Natural Resources will close the swimming beaches at Lake Wappapello, Long Branch, St. Joe and Stockton state parks on Sept. 17.

Missouri has 19 beaches at state parks. More than a half-dozen have already closed for the season.
