EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. (AP) -
Authorities in East St. Louis say a 1-year-old girl was killed when she was run over by a car after a boy inside listening to music started the vehicle and put it into gear.
PERRY COUNTY, MO (KFVS) -
A motorcyclist from Illinois had to be taken to the hospital after a crash on Interstate 55 in Perry County, Missouri.
It happened around 7:30 Sunday morning in the southbound lanes of I-55 at mile marker 119.6.
According to the Missouri State Patrol, Kenneth S. Smoot, 54, of Franklin, Illinois was driving a 2006 Honda Goldwing motorcycle when it began to skid and overturned off the left side of the road.
He was thrown from the motorcycle after it hit the median.
Smoot received serious injuries and was taken to a Cape Girardeau hospital by Perry County EMS.
Troopers say he was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
