Police chase in Kentucky ends with two arrests

A police chase on Interstate 24 in Christian County, Ky. ended with the arrests of two out-of-state men.

Trooper Jeff Ayres saw a vehicle at mile-marker 73 driving westbound on I-24 traveling at 100 mph on Sunday, September 23 around 2:30 a.m., according to Kentucky State Police.

Ayers tried to stop the vehicle, but the driver continued westbound on the interstate.

The chase then crossed into Trigg County and ended around mile maker 68, where the driver finally stopped.

The driver, Gay Htoo, 20, of Amarillo, Texas and the passenger, Pway Htoo, 33, of Storm Lake, Iowa were arrested.

Gay Htoo was charged with a first offense DUI, speeding, reckless driving, fleeing/evading the police in the first degree, no insurance and failure to notify the Department of Transportation of address change.

Pway Htoo was charged with public intoxication.

Both men were taken to the Christian County Jail.
