MARION COUNTY, TX (KLTV) -

Texas Parks and Wildlife Game Wardens have confirmed that the six-year-old boy who nearly-drowned in Lake O' the Pines on Sunday afternoon has died.

Officials say the boy was taken off life support on Monday.

Game Wardens responded to Lake O' The Pines Sunday afternoon on reports of a child missing in the water.

The report of the child missing in the water came in around 3:30 p.m., near Sandy Beach swimming area.

The six-year-old boy was swimming in the water, and next thing family knew he was missing.

Game Warden Charles Furlow found the boy in the water. He estimated he was underwater for no longer than 20 minutes.

The boy was taken by ambulance to a Longview hospital and according to the Game Warden was taken via helicopter to a hospital in Shreveport.

The Game Warden said when he was being taken from Longview to Shreveport he had a pulse.
