Electric car enthusiasts from around the world are in Cape Girardeau right now for the 2nd Annual Electric Vehicle Conversion Convention.
It's meant for people who've taken regular vehicles and converted them to electric.
Around 200 people from 12 countries are in town, and organizers say there's nothing like driving an electric car.
"There's a continuous feeling of acceleration," said Organizer Jack Rickard. "It would be like driving a car, where it's like Star Trek warp factor seven Mr. Sulu. With an internal combustion engine that's like, Jed and Ellie Mae, make sure Granny's tied on in back! And, so it's just a very different feel."
On Friday, some of the cars will take part in a drag race at the Cape Girardeau airport.
On Saturday, some of the electric cars will be on display at Capaha Park.
