PADUCAH, KY (KFVS) -

It was a big turnout for drug take-back events across the Heartland on Saturday.

Many people brought their left-over medications to Kentucky Oaks Mall in Paducah, Kentucky.

Several agencies including the Drug Enforcement Administration were on hand to collect the drugs right inside the mall's entrance.

People could drop off their meds, no questions asked.

Officials say they collected 62-pounds of medications in Paducah.

Several other locations participated as well including Scott County, where people brought in about 185 pounds.

There was also a collection site in Carbondale, Illinois.

According to the DEA, last October, Americans turned in more than 188-tons of prescription drugs at more than 5,300 sites.
