WILLIAMSON COUNTY, IL (KFVS) -

A Williamson County family's home was destroyed by a fire Saturday evening.

Williamson County Fire Protection District crews responded to the house fire at 14647 Stacy Lane on Saturday evening around 8 p.m.

Crews say when they arrived the house was fully engulfed in flames.

The homeowner tells Heartland News that the television caught fire and spread to the ceiling.

They called out for mutual aid from the Marion Fire Department and Johnston City Fire Department.

The family was able to get out safely. And at this time the cause is still under investigation.

Investigators believe the fire started in the garage and then spread quickly into the attached house.

The home is a complete loss.
