CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) -

Authorities are looking for a suspect after two pit bulls were stolen overnight from the Humane Society in Cape Girardeau.

Both dogs are about a year old.

One is described as a male, tan and white pit bull about 60 pounds. The other is described as a small-framed female, dilute brindle with cropped ears.

Animal control picked them up last week near Broadway and Fountain.

The suspect apparently cut the fence to get the dogs.

No suspects are in custody.

Stealing those dogs is considered a felony. When caught, the suspect will also face criminal charges for cutting the fence.
