CARTERVILLE, IL (KFVS) -

Hundreds of bargain shoppers in southern Illinois found just what they were looking for at this years troops' yard sale in Carterville.

Heartland Heroes Project held their bi-annual benefit yard sale on Sunday.

The yard sell is held every year, and all the proceeds goes towards sending care packages to troops overseas.

Bargain hunters found items ranging from hundreds of books, collector's items, clothes and toys.

Shoppers told us as much they like finding the good deals and it's all about the troops.

"We always come over here for every benefit that they have like this," said Roy Manasco of Marion. "Not only do we find things we like to have, but also we feel like we're doing a good thing be helping out the veterans. Being a veteran myself, I like to help my brethren in arms."

"It's really wonderful to see the support," said Mary Beth Baxter, Heartland Heroes. "It lets us know that people still think about the troops overseas. And that also helps us get the packages over there to them and let them know we're still thinking about them here in the Heartland."

The next troops' yard sale will be this spring.

If you have anything you would like to donate, you drop them off at the U-Haul station in Carterville.
