An Elizabethtown woman was injured when she swerved her vehicle to miss a deer.

Patricia L. Smock, 43, was northbound on High Knob Road approximately 1/2 mile north of Grindstaff Road, when a deer entered the roadway from the east.

In an attempt to avoid striking the deer, Smock drove her pick-up truck off the roadway to the west.

The truck then struck a tree.

Smock was transported by the Gallatin County Ambulance Service to Harrisburg Medical Center for treatment of injuries she received in the crash.

The truck received major damage as a result of the collision.
