FESTUS, MO (KFVS) -

The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office is investigating an armed robbery in Festus that happened early Tuesday morning.

Jefferson County Sheriff Oliver "Glenn" Boyer says a man entered the Phillips 66 gas station at 2854 Hwy. 67 in Festus around 3:25 a.m., pointed a handgun at an employee and demanded money.

Boyer says the employee gave the man money and he left the gas station in a maroon Dodge Caravan minivan southbound on Hwy. 67.

The suspect is described as a white male, about 5'9 to 5'10, wearing blue jeans, tan boots, a blue "Adidas" shirt with yellow lettering and brown stripes, camouflage sock cap, silver framed sunglasses and black gloves.

Anyone with information about the armed robbery is asked to call the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office Tip Line at 636-797-5515.
