SALINE COUNTY, IL (KFVS) -

A former funeral director is heading to prison for misusing funds meant for pre-paid funeral arrangements.

Thursday in a Saline County courtroom, a specially appointed Massac County judge handed down the sentence to John B. Jones of Harrisburg.

Jones managed the Gaskins-Jones Funeral Home prior to allegations of theft that surfaced three years ago.

The judge sentenced Jones to three years in prison and ordered him to pay more than $50,000 dollars in restitution to the victims.
