OKAWVILLE, Ill. (AP) - Police have identified a second body found along a freeway in Washington County in less than a month as a St. Louis man.
The Washington County Sheriff's Department said Thursday that 47-year-old Darryl Jackson was found Tuesday near Interstate 64 close to Okawville (OHK'-uh-vihl) in southern Illinois. Washington County Coroner Mark Styninger (STY'-ning-er) ruled Jackson's death a homicide.
The discovery of Jackson's body came three weeks after the remains of 29-year-old Kelvin Swingler of St. Louis turned up along the interstate, also near Okawville. Swingler had been reported missing by his mother on Aug. 25.
The coroner also has ruled that case a homicide.
