OLIVE BRANCH, IL (KFVS) -
Two roads badly damaged by flooding at Horseshoe Lake have been reopened after being repaved.
The roads that got the work were East Side and West Side Drives, two roads that circle the lake.
There will be a ribbon cutting ceremony will be at the intersection of Promised Land Road and East Side Drive Tuesday morning at 10:30.
Of course, this area has been flooded several times over the years, but some of the most prolonged flooding happened a couple of years ago when much of the Heartland was dealing with the historic flood.
State representative Brandon Phelps, who sponsored the grant to fund the project, says it will improve the infrastructure around the lake and will hopefully increase the amount of tourism in the area.
