WEST FRANKFORT, IL (KFVS) -

People living in a high rise in West Frankfort, IL had to leave their apartments after a kitchen fire Wednesday night.

The West Frankfort fire department says it happened a little before 7:30 p.m. Wednesday night at the Anna Gray public housing high rise.

Fire crews got the call to a 7th floor home after a pan on the stove caught fire.

Fire crews evacuated the entire building.

5 people were treated for breathing problems, 2 of them went to the hospital.

West Frankfort fire crews tell Heartland News the only damage was to a cooking pan.

People were let back into their homes late Wednesday night.
