Farmington man arrested after allegedly making 'terrorist threat - KFVS12 News & Weather Cape Girardeau, Carbondale, Poplar Bluff

A Farmington, Missouri man was arrested after allegedly making what police are calling a terrorist threat at a Perryville store.

Perryville Chief of Police Keith B. Tarrillion says warrants were issued for the arrest of Eric Householder, 24, of Farmington, for allegedly making a terrorist threat.  He says Householder is a Perryville Wal-Mart employee.

Chief Tarrillion says around 12:30 p.m. on October 16,  Wal-Mart management notified police that a message in a bathroom stall had been found, which was believed to be a bomb threat against the store. The alleged bomb was said to go off at 4:30 p.m. that day.

The chief says an initial search was conducted at approximately 1:30 p.m. and police say they found nothing suspicious.

But, after talking with Wal-Mart staff, Tarrillion says for the safety of the community and all employees, the decision was made to close the store from 4 to 5:25 p.m. that day.

At approximately 5 p.m. that day, the police department and Wal-Mart staff conducted a second search of the building, but again police say nothing was found. The store then reopened shortly before 5:30 p.m.

Chief Tarrillion says officers were able to identify possible suspects through video surveillance, and an approximate time the message was left in the bathroom.

Information obtained by investigators led to the arrest of Householder.
