Airport in Union City awarded grant for hangar

UNION CITY, TN (KFVS) -

A Union City, Tennessee airport has been awarded a grant of more than $450,000.

According to the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT), federal and state aeronautics grants totaling $16.3 million have been approved for 23 Tennessee airports.

Everett-Stewart Regional Airport in Union City, Tennessee has been awarded a total of $458,680 for the design and construction of a box hangar.

That breaks down to $412,812 in Federal money, $22,934 from the State and $22,934 is local funds.

According to TNOT, the grants are made available through the Tennessee Department of Transportation's Aeronautics Division.

The Division administers federal and state funding to assist in the location, design, construction and maintenance of Tennessee's diverse public aviation system.
