PERRYVILLE, MO (KFVS) -
Emergency crews were dispatched Friday evening to an injury crash involving a charter motor coach bus and a car.
It happened shortly before 6:30 p.m. on Route 51 South, or South Perryville Blvd., in Perryville, Missouri.
According to Major William Jones, a Ford Mustang driven by Landon M. Torres, 20, of Perryville, was southbound on Route 51 and tried to make a left hand turn into the Mr. Car Wash.
Maj. Jones says Torres turned into the path of a northbound charter bus registered to Lakeside Travel, Kentucky driven by Ronnie Webb of Hollow Rock, Tennessee.
The right front area passenger bus was struck by the passenger side of the Mustang.
There were two passengers on the bus along with the driver. No one on the bus received injuries.
Torres was taken by ambulance to Perry County Memorial Hospital with moderate injuries.
A passenger in the Ford Mustang, Tyler S. Lawrence, was extricated from the vehicle by the Perryville Fire Department and transported by Air Evac Lifeteam Helicopter to a St. Louis area hospital with severe injuries.
Police say a seat belt was used by the bus driver, but it's unknown if anyone in Ford Mustang was wearing seat belts.
Maj. Jones says an investigation is continuing as far as citations to be issued.
Perryville Police Department and Perryville Fire Department dispatched officers and fire rescue in addition to Perry County Ambulance Service.
