Sun-blinded driver hits church

MCCRACKEN COUNTY, KY (KFVS) -

Deputies say a woman blinded by light struck a church.

According to McCracken County deputies, it happened around 7:30 a.m. Saturday morning on Ogden Landing Road.

Tiffany Johnson, 18, was driving eastbound as she approached the intersection of Metropolis Lake Road. Deputies say the sun was glaring on her windshield and she could not see. Johnson allegedly tried to wipe clean the inside of the glass. She apparently did not see a stop sign and ran right through a 'T' intersection and into the front of Shilonite Gospel Fellowship Church.

Johnson was transported to Western Baptist Hospital for some minor injuries. The crash caused only minor damage to the church building.
