27-year-old Heath Lyons of Fairfield, Ill. was driving north on County Road 1800-E when his Jeep drove over a slick spot on the road and lost control Monday night. The Jeep overturned
and Lyons was thrown through the rear window according to Illinois State Police.

A second vehicle driven by 21-year-old Eric Vaughn was driving south and struck the Jeep.

Lyons was treated at the scene by Wayne Co. Ambulance service. He was later taken to
Fairfield Hospital and then transported to St. Mary's Hospital in Evansville, Indiana, for treatment. Vaughn refused treatment at the scene.
